Raven Williams was named the Big South Player of the Week Monday by College Sports Madness. A prodÂuct from Richmond, Va., Williams has scored 19 points in each of her past two games against George Mason and Gardner-Webb.
• The Lancers won their first game of the season the last time the squad played inside Willett Hall. Raven WilÂliams scored 19 points for the second straight game, as Longwood edged Gardner-Webb, 63-59.
Last Time Out• Winthrop's Schaquilla Nunn and Erica Williams combined to score 29 secÂond-half points and each recorded a double-double to lead the Eagles past the visiting Lancers, 81-48, Tuesday evening inside Winthrop Coliseum.

Raven Williams led the Lancers with 17 points, as she extended her streak of games of 16 or more points to six straight.

Jaclyn Reagan joined Williams in douÂble figures with a season-high 11 points, as she was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.
• Holding a 12-point advantage at the half, 35-23, Winthrop took control of the game at the start of the second half with a 12-3 run over the opening 5:11 to push the lead to 21 points and ultimately out of reach for the Lancers.

• The Lancers have played a total of five schools from a power five conference this season — Wake Forest, Florida, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Clemson. The five games against the power five is the most of any team in the Big South this season.

• This season marks the 99th season for Longwood women's basketball, as the Lancers have a record of 567-547 since 1970. The Lancers officially made the jump to Division I for the 2007-08 season and are 62-127 in those seven seasons.
