The Opening Tip • Longwood returns from an eight-day holiday break to face Ball State Sunday in Muncie, Ind. It will be Longwood's ninth road game of the season.
• The Dec. 20 win against Penn State Beaver was the 500th victory in Longwood men's basketball history. The Lancers are 500-475 all-time.
• Ball State will be Longwood's final non-conference opponent of the season before the Big South opener at Winthrop on Dec. 31.

Ryan Badowski is the reigning Big South Freshman of the Week after scoring 17 points with a career-high seven rebounds in a 106-74 win against Penn State Beaver on Dec. 20.
• Longwood has forced a Big South-leading 192 turnovers this season and average 16.1 points per game off turnovers. The Lancers have forced 19 more turnovers than the next closest league team.

Shaquille Johnson scored a career-high 22 points to lead Longwood to a 106-74 win over Penn State Beaver that was the Lancers' 500th win in program history.
• Johnson hit a caree-high 8-of-10 field goals, including four dunks, as Longwood shot a season-best .619 (39-of-63) from the field. The Lancers scored over 50 points in both halves in the team's first 100-point game since a 102-101 win over Liberty last season.

Ryan Badowski, Longwood's bench scored a season-high 40 points. Badowski poured in 17 points as one of four double-figure scorers, joining Johnson,

Shaquille Johnson is averaging 16.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He is shooting .438 (7-of-16) from three-point range during that span with 10-plus points in all five games. On the season Johnson ranks among the league's top 10 in assists per game (6th, 3.5) and points per game (10th, 13.3).

Quincy Taylor has hit multiple three-pointers in six straight games and is shooting .529 (18-of-34) from beyond the arc during that span. Taylor's .477 (21-of-44) three-point percentage leads the Big South, while his 16.9 points per game ranks fourth.
• Freshman guard
Ryan Badowski averages 9.5 points per game for the Big South's fourth-highest scoring average off the bench. Badowski averages 22.4 minutes per game but has not started any of his 12 contests. Badowski has five double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 21-point effort against Averett in the season opener.
• Badowski was named Big South Freshman of the Week on Dec. 20 after pouring in 17 points with a career-high seven rebounds in the win over Penn State Beaver. Badowski has twice been named the league's freshman of the week.

Lotanna Nwogbo has led Longwood in re- bounding in nine of 12 games. Nwogbo ranks fifth in the Big South with 7.7 rebounds per game and 2.8 offensive rebounds per game, and sixth with 4.7 offensive boards per game.
