• UMBC's Wayne Sparrow scored a game-high 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field 4-of-5 from three-point range. Sparrow scored nine points over the agme's final eight minutes to spark a late run that saw UMBC break open a 42-42 tie with a 10-2 run.

Shaquille Johnson scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Longwood, while
Quincy Taylor added 15 points while playing all 40 minutes.
• Taylor scored 12 points over the game's final two minutes to help Longwood cut the deficit to 56-53 with 40 seconds remaining, but Sparrow hit two free throws and secured the rebound on Longwood's final shot to lock up the win.

Ryan Badowski averages 8.5 points per game for the Big South's fifth-highest scoring average off the bench. Badowski averages 21.8 minutes per game but has not started any of his 10 contests. Badowski has three double-figure scoring games, including a career-high 21-point effort against Averett in the season opener.
• Badowski leads all NCAA freshmen with 64 three-point field goal attempts and is tied for fourth among freshmen with 22 made treys.He is also the Big South's third-leading freshman scorer.

Quincy Taylor is averaging 25.0 points per game over his last three contests. Taylor scored 34 points in a win over Dartmouth on Dec. 3, 26 against UT Martin on Dec. 6 and 15 at UMBC Sunday. Taylor has scored in double figures in six of seven games.
• Taylor has hit 14 of his last 24 three-point shots, shooting .583 from three-point range over his last four games. Taylor has hit multiple treys in all four of those games and is shooting .500 (17-of-34) from long range this season.
