The Opening Tip
• Longwood returns to the court for the first time in more than a week to take on UMBC in Baltimore, Md. Longwood has not played since Dec. 6 due to the university's exam week.
• The contest will be Longwood's seventh road game of the season. The Lancers have played six of their first nine games away from home.
• The Lancers have shot .400 or better from three-point range in three straight games and have hit at least nine treys in back-to-back contests heading into Sunday's game.
• Longwood has forced 132 turnovers this season, the most in the Big South.
• In his six games this season, redshirt senior point guard Quincy Taylor is averaging 17.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting .536 (15-of-28) from three-point range.
 
Last Time Out
• Quincy Taylor notched his second straight 20-point game in a 77-67 loss to UT Martin last Saturday at Willett Hall.
• Taylor hit 9-of-18 field goals on the way to 26 points just three days after scoring 34 points in a win over Dartmouth. Taylor hit 4-of-8 three-pointers and scored 14 points in the second half.
• UT Martin guard Deville Smith derailed Longwood's bid at a second straight comeback by matching Taylor nearly point-for-point with 13 of his 16 points in the second half.
• The Skyhawks took advantage of the absence of Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo, who scored 11 points on 4-of-4 field goals but did so in limited action due to foul trouble. UT Martin outscored Longwood 38-29 in the 19 minutes Nwogbo was off the floor.
 
By The Numbers
• Longwood has shot over 40.0 percent from three-point range in three consecutive games. The Lancers are shooting .418 (23-of-55) from beyond the arc during that span with at least nine treys in back-to-back games heading into Sunday's game.
• Longwood ranks fourth in the Big South with a .337 (67-of-199) three-point field goal percentage.
• Longwood is 2-0 in one-possession games this season, defeating UNC Greensboro 81-79 in overtime on Nov. 21 and Dartmouth 74-73 on Dec. 3.
• Redshirt senior point guard Quincy Taylor is averaging 30.0 points per game over his last two contests. Taylor scored 34 points in a 74-73 win over Dartmouth on Dec. 3 and followed with 26 points in a 77-67 loss to UT Martin on Dec. 6.
• Taylor has hit 12 of his last 18 three-point shots, shooting .667 from three-point range over his last three games. Taylor has hit at least three treys in all three of those games and is shooting .536 (15-of-28) from long range this season.
• Taylor has scored in double figures in five of his six games this season. Taylor, who was the starting point guard as a sophomore at UAB before suffering a torn ACL late in the season, is averaging a team-high 17.0 points and 2.8 assists per game.
• Freshman guard Ryan Badowski has hit a three-pointer in eight of nine games this season and ranks fourth among all NCAA freshmen with 22 made three-pointers. Badowski is the second-leading freshman scorer in the Big South averaging 9.4 points per game.
• Redshirt junior center Lotanna Nwogbo, ranks among the Big South's top 10 in scoring (8th, 13.3 ppg.), rebounding (2nd, 8.0 rpg.), field goal percentage (1st, .652) and free throw percentage (8th, .789). Nwogbo is also second in the Big South lead with two double-doubles and three double-digit rebounding games.
