FARMVILLE, Va. – Former Longwood baseball coach Buddy Bolding, who led the program for 35 seasons, will be signing copies of his new book "Top Half – Get On Base, Dammit!" this evening, Dec. 10, at Madigan's Waterfront in Occoquan, Va.
The event is scheduled to run from 5-8 p.m. this evening at Madigan's, which is located just off of I-95 and Route 1 in Northern Virginia. The book details the first 36 years (35 seasons) of baseball at Longwood, a period that included 953 victories, six NCAA appearances, a pair of Division II World Series and much more.
The four-time Virginia Sports Information Directors' Coach of the Year recipient, Bolding writes the history of Longwood baseball in a way distinctly his own. In those 35 years, coach Bolding elevated Longwood to a national level at the Division II ranks and finally, led the program to Division I and the Big South Conference. The book goes back, year-by-year, and relives each and every team, season and triumph on the way to making Longwood baseball what it is today.
