HARRISONBURG, Va. – Longwood University suffered a 5-2 men's tennis loss at Colonial Athletic Association member James Madison University Thursday afternoon in Harrisonburg. Senior captain Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) and freshman Steed Johnson|Raleigh, N.C. (Broughton) each won their singles match at #1 and #6, respectively. The Lancers travel to Lynchburg to face Division III Lynchburg College Saturday, April 14 at 10 a.m.

Tanaka won 6-1, 6-4 and Johnson won in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. The two partnered at #3 doubles but lost 8-5. At #2 singles, junior transfer Giorgi Khmiadashvili|Tbilisi, Georgia (Public School 148) went down in three 5-7, 6-1, 1-0, while freshman Daniel Elston|Bath, England (Ralph Allen School) was also defeated in three sets at #3 by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Sophomore Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus) fell 6-2, 7-5 at #4, and freshman Harry Kelleher|Sydney, Australia (St Aloysius' College) dropped the #5 match 6-4, 6-2. Khmiadashvili and Elston went down 8-6 at #1 doubles, while an 8-5 score finished off Becker and Kelleher at #2 doubles.
