FAIRFAX, Va. – Longwood University suffered a 4-3 men's tennis loss at Colonial Athletic Association member George Mason University Saturday afternoon in Fairfax, Virginia. Freshman Daniel Elston|Bath, England (Ralph Allen School) was the only Lancer (7-7) to win at both singles and doubles, going 6-2, 6-2 at #3 singles and 8-4 at #1 doubles. Longwood hosts future Big South Conference rival Liberty University on Tuesday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m., for Senior Day on Lancer Courts in Farmville.
 
Junior transfer Giorgi Khmiadashvili|Tbilisi, Georgia (Public School 148) partnered with Elston for the doubles win at #1 and also played #2 singles, falling 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Senior Nobu Tanaka|Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) was the other singles winner, playing at #1 with two scores of 7-5. Tanaka lost, however, at #3 singles with freshman Steed Johnson|Raleigh, N.C. (Broughton) 8-5. Johnson fell in three sets are #6 singles 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Sophomore Edward Becker|Sydney, Australia (Manly Selective Campus) and freshman Harry Kelleher|Sydney, Australia (St Aloysius' College) aided in winning the doubles point, taking the #2 match 9-8 (5). The two lost their respective singles matches, though, at #4 and #5 by scores of 7-5, 6-3 and 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
