FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood University women's basketball head coach Bill Reinson has announced the hiring of Lindsay Schrader and Jenny Poff as women's basketball assistant coaches. Schrader served as the compliance and governance intern at the Big Ten Conference during the 2010-11 academic year and played basketball at the University of Notre Dame where she received All-America Honorable Mention recognition as a senior. Poff worked as a volunteer assistant coach at Central Michigan University during 2010-11 and played three years of basketball at Ohio University.

Schrader earned All-Big East Conference First Team honors as a junior and senior at Notre Dame and was named to the State Farm Wade Trophy Watch List as a senior. She was named to the Big East Academic All-Star Team as a freshman and was a McDonald's All-America performer as a senior in high school.

In addition to her time at the Big Ten, Schrader has worked at Acceleration Sports Performance where she developed and conducted basketball-related drills for clients.

A native of Bartlett, Illinois, Schrader earned a bachelor of business administration in management consulting from the University of Notre Dame.

“As we change the culture of Longwood basketball, I believe Lindsay will have a huge impact on our program,” said Reinson. “She has played women's college basketball at the highest level, for a terrific coach, at a university with a rich tradition. She has played in big games, on national stages, and knows what it takes to be successful. Along with current assistant coach Wanisha Smith, I will be expecting Lindsay to help teach our players the right way to play the game of basketball. She is very passionate about the game, and about winning. Her overall personality fits very well with our coaching staff, she has a very bright future in this business, and I look forward to working her.”

Poff was a three-year starter for the Bobcats after transferring from Michigan State University and served as a team captain as a junior and senior. She earned a spot on the All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament Team in 2008 and served as the team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative as a senior. Poff made the Dean's List and Athletic Honor Roll all three years and was named to the MAC All-Academic Team as a senior.

Before her stint at CMU, Poff served as a girl's basketball assistant coach at St. Johns High School and worked with the Capital City Express 13U Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) squad as the head coach.

A native of St. Johns, Michigan, Poff earned a bachelor of science in Spanish education and a graduate degree in coaching education from Ohio University.

“Jenny brings an energy and enthusiasm that is contagious and will be a perfect fit for the staff. She will work with our guards this season and her successful playing experience will serve her well in that role. When you combine her outgoing personality and exceptional work ethic, the result will be someone who will also be a very effective recruiter. Once she gains experience and begins to understand college basketball from a coaching perspective, the sky is the limit for Jenny.”
