Farmville, Va. - The Longwood University women's basketball team is set to travel to College Park, Maryland, to take on the 14th-ranked University of Maryland of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.. The Lancers (4-14) are coached by interim head coach
Bill Reinson and are led by senior
Krystal Garrison and junior
Brittanni Billups who each average 10.7 points. Maryland (17-3) is coached by Brenda Frese and is led by Alyssa Thomas with 14.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. The Terrapins have won their last four games, including a 75-44 home victory over ACC-member Wake Forest on Friday. The Lancers are coming off a 63-53 setback to Davidson College on Friday.

Longwood is coming off a 63-53 setback to visiting Davidson College of the Southern Conference on Friday night in Willett Hall. Longwood fell behind by 12 in the first half after going scoreless for almost 10 minutes before going on an 18-2 run over the next 5:19 to regain the lead. The Lancers led 28-26 at halftime but the Wildcats went on a 9-0 run early in the second half to lead 35-30 with 17:26 remaining. LU tied the game at 37-37, but Davidson's Ashley Lax hit three-straight three-pointers to give the Wildcats the lead for good.
Morgan Smith paced Longwood with a season-high 14 points, while all 11 players that saw action scored for the Lancers.
