Sarah Bietsch | Chambersburg, Pa. (Chambersburg Area) each recorded one goal. The Lancers (3-9, 1-2 NorPac) return to action on Wednesday, October 6, when they travel to Charlottesville to take on #3 University of Virginia at 6 p.m..

The Lancers struck first when de Grandhomme scored on a short corner play in the 24th minute, taking the pass from senior
Lauren van de Kamp | Midlothian (Trinity Episcopal) and sending a shot past the goalkeeper. Bietsch added a goal in the 26th minute. Longwood carried a 2-0 lead into halftime. The Lancers outshot the Mountaineers 11-1 in the first half and had an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Lauren Sullivan added an insurance goal in the 57th minute after she deflected a pass from de Grandhomme into the cage. The Mountaineers scored one more goal to make the final score 4-2.
Sophomore
Amy Lewis | Lewisville, N.C. (Forsyth Country Day) recorded one save and allowed two goals in 70 minutes. The Lancers were led offensively by de Grandhomme with two goals and one assist on a game-high seven shots.
Bridgette Street allowed four goals with seven saves in 70 minutes in goal for ASU. Jenn Heiss and Lisa Charney each scored a goal for the Mountaineers.
Longwood outshot Appalachian State 14-4 and had a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners.
