FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University dropped a 6-1 decision to Coastal Carolina University on Thursday at the Lancer Courts in Farmville. The Lancers fall to 4-3 on the season while the Chanticleers improve to 8-0.  Longwood returns to the court on Sunday when it travels to Durham, N.C., to take on North Carolina Central at 9:30 a.m. and Mount Olive at 12:30 p.m.
 
Longwood freshman Nobu Tanaka/Potomac, Md. (St. Johns College HS) picked up the only win for the Lancers, a 6-1, 6-0 decision over Plam Tzvetkov at #4 singles,  improving to 6-1 on the season.  Others competing in singles include seniors Carlos Garcia de Andoain/Madrid, Spain (Liceo Sorolla) (2-6, 0-6) at #1 and Brandon Lindsley/Woodbridge (Woodbridge) (1-6, 4-6) at #2 along with juniors David Cardoso/Porto, Portugal (Externato Lumen) (5-7, 2-6) at #3, Billy Heird/York, Pa. (Dallastown) (6-3, 5-7, 2-6) at #5 and Andres Lazarte/Vienna (San Miguel) (0-6, 0-4) at #6. In doubles action, Heird and Milo Barajas-Alexander/Arlington (Bishop O'Connell)  trailed at #1, Cardoso and Garcia de Andoain (4-8) fell at #2 and Lindsley and Tanaka (4-8) fell at #3.
