Tristan Carey is our 2012-13 Longwood Male Athlete of the Year. A 6-4 guard on the men's basketball team, he started 32 games and averaged 15.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Carey posted 26 double-figure scoring games with one 40-point game, three 30-point games, eight 20-point games and two double-doubles. He scored a school Division I-record 40 points against Liberty (2.19), fifth-best all-time, and the highest single-game total in the Big South this season. The 40-point game included a team-best, career-high and school Division I-record eight three-point field goals. Carey was also named to the Continental Tire/Las Vegas Invitational All-Tournament Team. Tristan majors in sociology, with a minor in business management, and is the son of Theresa Carey Fulcher and Joseph Fulcher, Jr.
