FARMVILLE, Va. - Fresh off the program's first team title since 2012, Longwood women's golf returns to action, traveling to Greenville, N.C., to compete in the Pirate Collegiate Classic, Sept. 14-15.
The two-day event kicks off with 36 holes on Monday, Sept. 14, from the Greenville Country Club with the final 18 holes to follow on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The Lancers and host ECU will be joined in action by App State, Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, James Madison, UNCG, NC State, Radford, Stetson, Troy, and Wake Forest (individuals) in the 14-team field.

- The Lancers compete at the Pirate Collegiate Classic for the third-straight year. Last year, Longwood finished fifth in a 15-team field. Junior

Avery Nordman led the way, tying for 15th at 2-over 218.
- Longwood led wire-to-wire to win the eight-team field at the Tribe Invitational at the Kingsmill River Course, Sept. 7-8. The Lancers fired the best rounds in both the first (5-over 293) and second (1-over 289) rounds. Playing with only four players after Sheldon was forced to withdraw due to illness, Longwood shot the second-best round on Tuesday to win by eight shots and claim its first team title since 2012. The last Longwood team victory came at the Kingsmill River Course as well during the 2012 C&F Bank Intercollegiate.
- Junior Madison Lehr shot a career-best 54-hole total of 2-under 214 to win the program's first individual crown since 2016. She led the tournament in par-5 scoring (-5) and birdies (8). She shot 1-under 71s in the first two rounds, and they were two of just five total rounds under par for the tournament.
- For her efforts, Lehr was named the Big South Player of the Week. It was the second player of the week award for the Lancer junior.
- Sheldon turned in an impressive performance in the second round, firing the best 18-hole score of the tournament at 3-under 69. Making the effort even more impressive, the Lancer junior battled illness for the final half of the round, which forced her to miss the third and final round. Sheldon was second at even-par 144 through the opening 36 holes.
- In total, four Lancers finished in the top 10 at the event. Competing as an individual, freshman
Romy Wagner turned in a strong performance in her first collegiate tournament, finishing in third place at 7-over 223 (74-75-74). Junior
Chiara Wippert and sophomore
Avery Nordman both finished in a share of eighth at 10-over 226.
- Last season, Longwood posted seven top-five performances as a team, including capping the season with a fourth-place finish at the Big South Championships. The Lancers finished second at Lehigh's El Campeon Collegiate and third at the Mimosa Hills Invitational during the 2025-26 campaign.
