CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Longwood junior Madison Lehr was named the Big South Women's Golf Player of the Week on Thursday following her first collegiate tournament victory at the Tribe Invitational.  

 

It marks the second Big South Player of the Week award for Lehr, who also received the accolade on March 26, 2026 during her sophomore campaign.  

 

The Mechanicsville, Va., native posted a career-high 2-under par 214 in winning the Tribe Invitational and led Longwood to its first team title since 2012. It marked the first individual crown for a Longwood player since 2016 and the lowest tournament score to par for a Lancer since 2022. She was the only player among the 50 competitors under par at the event and recorded two of the five total rounds under par.  

 

Lehr recorded 1-under par 71s in each of the first two rounds, collecting three birdies compared to two bogeys in each round. She closed out the four-shot win with an even-par 72 on Tuesday. The Longwood junior led the tournament in par-5 scoring at 5-under par and with eight total birdies.   

 

Lehr and the Lancers return to action at the Pirate Collegiate Classic, which will be played at the Greensville Country Club in Greenville, N.C., Sept. 14-15.
