FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood men's basketball had a pair of players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Jacoi Hutchinson both garnered the honor for the Lancer men, with the award recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Both players hold a cumulative GPA above 3.50, and they played an integral role for the Lancer men this season.
Thompson was the team's Big South All-Academic Team honoree, and he averaged 10.3 points per game on the season. He was the team's top three-point shooter, leading the way with 48 made triples, and he added 63 assists as well.
The sophomore scored at least 20 points three times, and he tallied double figures 19 times, including a career-best 22 points twice (against Wake Forest on Dec. 17 and Charleston Southern on Feb. 21).
Hutchinson, meanwhile, was second on the team in scoring average at 12.3 points per game, and he finished with 99 assists and 44 steals as well. He was the team's top free throw shooter by percentage and sank 100 foul shots in 31 games.
On the season, Hutchinson scored in double figures 23 times while topping 20 twice. He had a career-best 36 points in an eruption to help lead Longwood past Charleston Southern on Feb. 21.
The Lancers finished the season 16-16, the team's fifth straight campaign with a record at .500 or better. In addition, the team finished tied for fourth in the league for their best finish since the 2022-23 season. The Lancers will return to the court in November of 2026 to begin the 2026-27 campaign.
