THE OPENING TIP
•    Longwood tied for fourth with UNC Asheville in the Big South regular season standings.
•    The Lancers enter the 2026 Air Force Reserve Big South Tournament as the fifth seed after tiebreakers.
•    Longwood has a winning record for a fifth straight season, the longest such streak in more than four decades for the program.
•    Ronnie Thomas, with 16 wins, is tied with Griff Aldrich for the second-most wins by a first-year head coach in program history.
•    The Lancers also finished with a .500 Big South record for the fifth time in the past seven years, and the fourth-place finish was the best since the 2022-23 season.
•    Elijah Tucker earned All-Big South Honorable Mention, as voted on by the league's coaches, after leading the Lancers in scoring.
•    Tucker had seven double-doubles in Big South play and eight on the season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
•    Longwood wrapped up the regular season on Saturday with a 90-74 win over Radford on senior day at the Joan Perry Brock Center.
•    Emanuel Richards paced five Lancers in double figures with 19 points, and Elijah Tucker added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
•    Redd Thompson Jr. chipped in 15 points, and Alphonzo Billups III and Jaylen Benard had 11 points apiece.
•    Del Jones led Radford with 21 points, but Longwood outscored Radford 56-37 after halftime to pull away from the Highlanders.
•    The Lancer defense was solid, holding Radford to .286 (8-28) shooting from three, and the offense went 30-35 at the foul line.
•    It marked the second straight contest where the Lancers made at least 30 free throws.
•    It was the eighth time this season five players had scored in double figures for Longwood.
 
BY THE NUMBERS
•    Longwood has won three of its final four games to close the regular season, with two of those games going to overtime.
•    in the past two games, Longwood has won after trailing at the half. The Lancers were down 12 at Charleston Southern before rallying to win in double overtime on Feb. 21, and then they were down three at the half against Radford before winning by 16 on Feb. 28. Those were the first two wins after trailing at the half this season.
•    Meanwhile, the team is 13-2 when leading at the half.
•    Longwood is 3-1 in games that have gone to overtime this season, with the Lancers winning all three conference games that have gone to OT.
•    After scoring 90 points against Radford, Longwood has scored at least 90 points in a game seven times this season. The team is 7-0 when scoring 90 or more points.
•    Longwood outrebounded Radford by 15, the 10th time this season the team has won the battle on the glass by 10 or more.
•    The Lancers rank second in the Big South, and 44th nationally, in rebounding margin, outrebounding opponents by five this season.
•    Elijah Tucker ranks third in the Big South in offensive rebounds per game, grabbing 2.84 offensive boards per game.
•    The Lancers rank second in the Big South in team free throw percentage at .743.
•    Longwood has shot at least .800 from the foul line this season 11 times this year, and the Lancers are 7-4 when shooting at least 80 percent in a game.
•    Jacoi Hutchinson is the best foul shooter in the Big South, shooting .872 from the free throw line.
•    The Lancers are 19th nationally in turnovers forced per game at 14.9, good for second in the Big South.
