THE OPENING TIP
•    For the second time in as many seasons, Longwood knocked off High Point on a last second shot at the Joan Perry Brock Center, this time on ESPNU.
•    Longwood now plays three of its next four on the road for its heaviest road stretch of Big South play, with trips to Radford, Gardner-Webb and Charleston Southern.

•    The score was tied at halftime at 34 with neither side leading by more than four points in the half.
•    Elijah Tucker scored five of Longwood's first seven points out of the break, and the Lancers extended the lead to 10 points in the opening minutes of the second half. He had 16 points, and all five Lancer starters scored in double figures.
•    High Point responded, with Kezza Giffa leading the way, and tied the game multiple times, including with 11 seconds to go on a Chase Johnston three.
•    Garland put a floater home with 2.5 seconds to play to give Longwood the win.

QUOTABLE
"This team looked like the Longwood basketball that we've seen over the years. I thought this group has really taken a lot of steps towards becoming more of a team. I thought tonight they really showed that. Now we have to continue to build on it."
—Head Coach Griff Aldrich after the team's win against High Point where all five starters scored in double figures
