FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood Athletics Director Tim Hall announced the formation of a new philanthropic effort today: For the Blue & White Society.
 
The society will aim to provide essential resources and opportunities for Longwood athletic programs, with the goal of empowering student-athletes to excel at the highest levels of competition.
 
"It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I announce the inception of the For the Blue & White Society," said Hall. "The society is a philanthropic group that is dedicated to enhancing the experience of our student-athletes and bolstering the strength and success of Lancer Athletics. This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to support our student-athletes while also fortifying the enduring generosity of our alumni, parents, and friends."
 
The For the Blue & White Society focuses on three key areas to enrich the student-athlete experience: a particular varsity sport, the Student-Athlete Wellness Fund or the Student-Athlete Excellence Fund.
 
All three areas provide members the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to Longwood athletics, helping the department overcome current challenges while preparing for the future.
 
"Longwood athletics is committed to competing for championships in every varsity sport, and members of the society can make an immediate impact on the athletic initiative of their choice," Hall added. "Ensuring an exceptional student-athlete experience is essential to Longwood University's mission of developing great citizen leaders."
