• Longwood is set to take on Samford in a weekend matchup.
• Longwood comes into the weekend after picking up two straight wins. The first came on Sunday vs. Presbyterian followed by a midweek win over Norfolk State.
• The two will play a double header on Friday followed by the series finale Saturday.

Around The Bases:
• Longwood is set to travel to Birmingham, to take on Samford in a three game series.
• The Lancers look to continue to improve on their last two games as they were able to beat Presbyterian Sunday, followed up by taking the first of three from Norfolk State this season.
• The Lancers experience has been a steady piece on both sides of the ball this season.

Hayden Harris, and
Willie Havens help lead the way for Longwood behind the plate, while
Guillermo Garcia Jr. and
Brenton Fisher start two of the three weekend series games.
• Longwood got down early against Norfolk State on Tuesday night, as they surrendered a run in the top half of the first.
Collin Hughes doubled in the bottom half to even it up. The Spartans responded with another run in the top half of the second, and from there pitching proved to be steady for both sides.

• The sixth inning is where the Lancers would take the lead.
Collin Hughes launched his first homerun of the season to tie the game at two.
Casey Gibbs would double a few batters later and Longwood took a 3-2 lead.

Jared Glinski provided a few insurance runs when he roped a triple into the gap that plated two more Lancers..

Ried Dittner would then come on to pitch the eighth and ninth to seal the game for Longwood.
• The Lancers will now travel to Samford for a double header on Friday, followed by the series finale on Saturday. .
• The Lancers are still proving that they are not afraid when it comes to being hit by a pitch. They currently sit fifth in the country in HBP at 65.
.• Longwood has also proven to be an unselfish bunch at the plate this season as they have the sixth most sacrifice bunts on the season in the country at 25.
• Following this non-conference weekend series, Longwood will return home to host Richmond and George Mason during the week, before hosting Charleston Southern in a conference series next weekend.
