GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Longwood baseball team earned the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack, the organization announced Wednesday.

The Lancers posted a 3.15 cumulative grade-point average during the season. It is the first time Longwood claimed the award since the 2019-20 season.

To be eligible for recognition, teams must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, for the entire 2025-26 academic year.

In all, nearly 500 collegiate programs, including 132 institutions from the NCAA Division I ranks, earned the honor.

The Lancers, under second-year head coach Ray Noe, finished the 2026 season 34-27 overall and made an improbable run as the No. 6 seed in to the final game of the Big South tournament.
