• Longwood is set to take on Presbyterian for its first home conference series of the season.
• Longwood comes into this weekend after defeating George Mason Tuesday afternoon in Fairfax, Va.
• Longwood comes into the weekend after dropping their first conference matchup of the season at Winthrop last weekend.
• The Lancers topped Presbyterian in last season's matchup, taking two of the three games.
Around The Bases:
• Longwood is set to host Presbyterian for their first home conference series. With inclement weather in the area Saturday, the two teams will play a doubleheader Friday, and one game on Sunday.
• The Lancers look to continue to improve after winning their midweek contest at Commonwealth opponent, George Mason, 9-4.
• The Lancers experience has been a steady piece on both sides of the ball this season.
Noah Campanelli,
Hayden Harris and
Willie Havens help lead the way for Longwood at the plate, while
Guillermo Garcia Jr., and
Brenton Fisher are slated to start two of the three weekend-series games.
• After George Mason took the lead in the first inning Tuesday, freshman,
Blagen Pado singled up the middle to tie the game in top half of the second inning.

Corbin McCloud continued to stay hot as he drove in the second run for the Lancers on an RBI single in the fourth.
• The sixth inning is where the Lancers took the lead for good. After a squeeze play to take the lead, Longwood did all of its damage with two outs in the inning.

Tanner Thomas drove in
Keondre Shelton with an RBI single to right field and
Noah Campanelli did the same to bring Thomas around as Longwood took a 5-2 lead.
• George Mason surrendered two more runs on errors, and Longwood held a 7-2 lead which it would never lose.
• The pitching proved to be strong, especially the freshman, noted Coach Oxendine. He mentioned after the game they have been preaching competing and he felt
Owen Simmons,
Johnny Sayres and
Kyle Miller all did a great job at that.
• Longwood stole two of three games last season at Presbyterian.
• The Lancers are still proving that they are not afraid when it comes to being hit by a pitch. They currently sit second in the country in HBP at 59
• Longwood has also proven to be an unselfish bunch at the plate this season as they have the fifth most sacrifice bunts on the season in the country at 23.
• Following this weekend's series, Longwood will play host to Norfolk State Tuesday night at 4 p.m.
