FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood hosts Maryland Eastern Shore on Thursday night. The game day sponsor is the Southside Virginia Family YMCA.

THE OPENING TIP
•    This game is the second game of a four-game homestand for the Lancers.
•    The Lancers take on a Maryland Eastern Shore team that is playing its sixth straight, and 10th overall, road game of the season.
•    Maryland Eastern Shore and Longwood have played three previous times since Griff Aldrich became the head coach of the Lancers.
•    Longwood is in a stretch of four home games as part of a four-home, four-road, four-home, four-road game run over thee team's first 16 games this year.
•    Longwood ranked 188th in the Kenpom advanced analytics rankings, one of six Big South schools in the top 200.
•    The Lancers are 7-2, the second-best start through nine games under Aldrich. The team was 8-1 through nine games a season ago.
 
LAST TIME OUT
•    Longwood cruised past Regent on Sunday, December 1 in a 108-55 win as 14 players scored for the Lancers.
•    DJ Jefferson and Michael Christmas led the way with 14 points apiece, and Angelo Brizzi and Emanuel Richards had 11 points each.
•    The Lancers shot better than 60 percent from the floor and better than 50 percent from three in their best offensive performance of the season.
