ROCK HILL, S.C. – Longwood men's and women's cross country powered their way through muddy conditions to close their season strong on Friday morning at the NCAA Southeast Regional.

Sophie Farley posted one of the top 10 6K times in team history, and
Benjamin Goulet achieved the same feat in the 10K for the Lancer men.

NOTABLE RESULTS:

The Lancer women finished 28
th out of 34 teams at the event, which was held at the Winthrop Farm Meadows course. Longwood topped a pair of Big South foes, beating both USC Upstate and Winthrop.

The Lancers posted a team score of 859 with an average team time of 24:00.26 as the team's pack mentality once again bore fruit.
Â
For the Lancer men, they finished 31
st out of 32 teams, narrowly edging Winthrop and finishing just a handful of spots back from USC Upstate.

The men posted an average time of 34:40.20 with a team score of 903.
Â
For women's individual runners, Farley finished 130
th out of 248 runners to lead Longwood with a time of 23:04.2. It was the fifth-fastest 6K in team history, surpassing the time set by fellow underclassmen
Priscilla Keller last year.

Keller, meanwhile, posted a strong 23:50.1 and finished 174
th. Her time was just 27 seconds off her 23:23.1 from a season ago.

Nicole Pinder shattered her personal best with a 24:10.8 to finish 189
th. She set a PR in the 4K, 5K and 6K this season, and she has run a personal best in each of her past three races.

Haley Slattery finished 208
th with a time of 24:43.5, missing her personal best by a mere eight seconds despite the challenging conditions.
Â
Lanie Grogg was the team's final scoring runner, finishing 215
th with a 24:55 flat as the team's top five runners all finished under the 25 minute mark.

Sam Bolen (25:08.1) set her personal best in the race, and
Kirsten Morley (26:09.1) made her 6K debut after a strong freshman season.
Â
On the men's side, Goulet posted a 33:21.6 to finish 153
rd out of 235 runners that finished the race. His time was good for the sixth-fastest 10K in team history, narrowly edging Nick Reed's time from 2014.

The senior holds the program's 8K and 6K records, and he also is in the top 10 in the 10K now after a strong finish to the fall campaign.

Saad Khan also powered his way to a strong finish, shaving nearly two minutes off his personal 10K best with a 33:36.6. His time was just short of a top 10 time in team history, and he finished 164
th.

Clinton Clancy ran a 34:59.9, just 25 seconds off his best time from last year's regional to finish 203
rd, and
Javier Roldan closed his junior season strong with a 35:25.1 that was his personal best to come in 216
th.

Ethan Pettyjohn (35:57.8) was Longwood's final scorer in 224
th, and
Misha Wiley (36:07.1) was seconds behind him.
