HOW IT HAPPENED:

With so many teams at the event, the Men's College 8K was split into multiple heats. The men ran in the College Brown 8K and finished 37th among the teams that ran that heat.

Jordyn Dillavou led the way with a 26:15 that goes down as the 10th fastest 8K in team history. He now has two of the top 10 8K times in team history in his two 8Ks as a Lancer.

Clinton Clancy led the remaining group of scoring Lancers, with Clancy, Benjamin Goulet, Ethan Pettyjohn and Saad Khan all finishing within 33 seconds of each other.

Alec Daniel led the way for the last trio of Lancers, with Daniel, Andrew Schaefer and Misha Wiley all finishing within 13 seconds of each other.

On the women's side, it was the team's first 6K of the season, and they finished 41st in their heat, the College Brown 6K.

Priscilla Keller once again led the charge in her collegiate 6K debut. Her time of 23:37.9 was the 10th fastest time in team history in the 6K.

Caroline Fairbanks and Haley Slattery ran as a duo, and they finished within 17 seconds of each other. For Slattery, it was her personal best time in the 6K while it was Fairbanks' second fastest 6K.

Kathryn Oylear was only three seconds off her personal best in the 6K with her time of 26:46.

Kiersten Witte rounded out the team scoring with a personal best of 26:54 that saw her shave off six seconds from her previous best time.

WHAT THEY SAID:

"Overall, we had good efforts today for both the men and the women," said Longwood Head Coach Brooke Craig. "It was good teamwork by the men to work together. We weren't tapered for this race, and they still ran well on tired legs. October is for fine tuning and getting after the goals they set for conference."

UP NEXT:

The Lancers have two weeks off before their final race of the regular season at the USC Upstate Invitational on Saturday, October 14. Then, the team heads to the Big South Championship on Sunday, October 29.
