The First Pitch:
•    Longwood opens up a four-game homestand with a three-game series against No. 14 Campbell.
•    The Camels will be the highest-ranked team the Lancers have played at the time they meet this season.
•    The two teams played a three-game series last season in Buies Creek, N.C. Campbell won the opening two games, but the Lancers won the series finale 10-5.
•    Longwood has scored 10 runs six times in the past 11 games. The Lancers have gone 7-4 in that stretch.
•    Eliot Dix holds a team-best .358 batting average and is one of two players to start every game this season. The other is Gregory Ryan, Jr.
•    Ryan leads Longwood with 37 RBI which is good for fifth in the Big South.
•    Dix is seventh in the league in batting average, second in doubles and first in hits.
•    Longwood's bullpen has been exceptional over the past 10 games, with the Lancer relievers combining for a 1.54 ERA over 46.2 innings of work.
 
Last Series Notes:
•    Longwood snapped a three-game losing streak with a 10-5 win on the road at George Mason.
•    The Lancers broke the game open with a six-run ninth inning, turning a 4-3 lead into a 10-3 lead.
•    George Mason plated two in the bottom half of the inning, but the Lancer relievers polished off the game.
•    Ethan Walker was solid on the mound again, with the freshman lefthander pitching into the sixth inning. He took a no-decision after the tying run came home before he exited the game.
•    The Lancers took the lead on Gregory Ryan, Jr's RBI triple in the first, and Luis DeLeon added an RBI double one batter later.
•    After GMU tied it, Longwood retook the lead in teh fourth, but GMU again tied the game in the sixth.
•    In the seventh, the Lancers scored to take the lead for good, 4-3, on a wild pitch.
•    Tanner Thomas, Drew Camp and Corbin McCloud all had RBI singles in the ninth.
•    Luis DeLeon, Drew Camp and Corbin McCloud all had multi-hit days.
•    Brenton Fisher earned the win after pitching a scoreless sixth inning. Andrew Melnyk, Dominick D'Ercole and Wyatt Bunch all pitched scoreless relief innings as well.
 
Around The Bases:
•    Longwood was picked to finish sixth in the Big South Preseason Poll after finishing eighth in the final standings in 2022.
•    The Lancers have scored at least 10 runs eight times this season, and Longwood has won all eight games when it has scored in double digits.
•    The Lancer offense has had at least 10 hits in seven of its past 11 games. Most recently, the Lancers had 11 hits at George Mason. Four of the 11 base hits were for extra bases.
•    On the season, the Lancer offense is second in the Big South in doubles with 67.
•    Eliot Dix leads Longwood with 12 doubles, which is second in the Big South.
•    Longwood has hit 32 home runs as a team, which is good for fourth in the Big South.
•    The team hit a season-best four home runs on Tuesday, March 28 at Richmond. Longwood has had nine multi-homer games this year, and the team hit a home run in five straight games from March 25-31.
•    Gregory Ryan, Jr. leads Longwood with nine home runs, which is tied for seventh in the Big South.
•    A trio of Lancers have four home runs apiece in Dix, Harris and James Nelson.
•    Longwood is tied for the Big South lead in triples. Ryan has hit three, which is tied for first in the leauge, while Quincy Sippio, Luis DeLeon have each hit two.
•    Dix leads the conference in hits with 49 which ranks 52nd in the nation. He sports a .358 batting average, which is seventh in the Big South.
•    Longwood is fourth in the Big South with 52 stolen bases, and the Lancers are 52-63 when attempting to steal.
•    Ethan Barnes leads the team and is 10-10 on the season.
•    Longwood's offense has been at its best in the second and eighth innings this season.
•    The Lancers have outscored their opposition 30-26 in the second inning this year, and the 30 runs in the second inning are the second-most among the nine innings.
•    The Lancer offense has scored 34 runs in eighth innings, which is an even match with their opposition. The 34 runs represent the most in any of the innings.
•    Longwood has also outscored its opponents 28-21 in the fifth inning and 24-19 in the seventh inning.
•    Over its past 10 games, the Longwood offense is hitting .287 with 38 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs.
•    Ryan leads Longwood with 16 RBI in that stretch, and Drew Camp has 14 RBI. 
•    Camp is hitting .351 (13-37) with three doubles, a triple and a home run in his past 10 games. Ryan is hitting .294 (10-34) with a double, two triples and two homers.
•    Luis DeLeon has been the team's hottest hitter, going 16-38 (.421) with three doubles, two triples and two homers over that time frame. He has driven in seven runs and scored 11 times. His 11 runs scored are tied for the team lead.
•    Hayden Harris has scored 11 runs in the past 10 games and is one of four Lancers, along with DeLeon (11), Ryan (10) and Dix (10) to score at least 10 runs in the team's past 10 games.
•    Harris is hitting .345 (10-29) with a .457 on-base percentage in that stretch.
•    On the mound, Logan Berrier is ninth in the Big South among qualifying pitchers with a 3.92 ERA.
•    Berrier has only given up four runs, three earned, in his last two starts, which have totaled nine innings. He has struck out 11 against 10 hits and six walks.
•    The Lancer bullpen has notched a 1.54 ERA in its past 10 games. In the process, the relief corps has posted a 4-0 record with three saves.
•    Dominick D'Ercole has been exceptional with a team-best 8.2 innings of work spread across five appearances, and he hasn't allowed a run in any of the five.
•    Andrew Melnyk has made three scoreless appearances in the team's past 10 games. He has struck out five in 4.0 innings of work while working around two hits and two walks.
•    All in all, eight relievers have not allowed an earned run for the Lancers in the past 10 games.
