WHAT THEY SAID:
"I'm happy Nick was able to get into contention and have the feels a player has in that situation," said head coach
Kevin Fillman following the final round of the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invite. "Golf is a mental and emotional grind unlike almost anything else. The game wants to speed you up and make a player thing about things you shouldn't be thinking about."
"I felt like I played solid all tournament and was able to do that by keeping the ball in play," said
Nick Rakes following his runner up finish at the teams first tournament of the year. "I am hoping that I will be able to keep this confidence and continue playing well throughout the season."
"Even though our goal is to always focus only on the task in front of us, it happened to most of us today, especially in the back half of the round. We have a short turnaround, so we'll get back to work and plan to be better at Hartford."
