FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood softball begins its 37th season Friday morning, as the Lancers head to the Elon Tournament to face Eastern Kentucky, Appalachian State and host Elon.
The 2018 season saw Longwood finish with a 38-16 record, as the Lancers fell short in the Big South Tournament for the first time since the 2014 season and just the second time in six seasons in the Big South. Longwood looks to bounce back in 2019 and return to the NCAA Regionals.
Entering her 22nd season in charge of the Lancers, head coach
Kathy Riley and her staff return 12 letterwinners from last season's team and added seven newcomers to the roster for the 2019 campaign.Â
