Leading Off
•Longwood enters the weekend after taking a midweek matchup against, N.C. Central, 3-2, at home.
•The Lancers ended a five-game losing streak with the midweek win.
•The weekend series against Presbyterian begins Thursday and ends on Saturday to avoid conflict with Easter Sunday.
•Longwood enters the series 5-4 all-time against Presbyterian.

Last Time Out
•Against N.C. Central the Lancers had just five hits, but had a pair of two-out RBI singles with runners in scoring position.
Brandon Harvell brought in the first run of the game on an RBI single, extending his hitting streak to nine games.
Nate Blakeney gave the Lancers the lead for good with a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning.
Jon Peterson picked up the win with 4.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.

•Longwood leads the Big South with 293 strikeouts on the season.
•Zach Potojecki is second in the league, one off the lead, with 47 strikeouts, while Cody Wager is seventh with 43 punchouts. Potojecki is 14th in the country with 12.95 strikeouts per nine innings.
•Longwood is 13th in the country with 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings as a team.
•Junior outfielder Sammy Miller has been great in the lead-off role, reaching base at a rate of .395 (15-for-38) when beginning an inning. Miller is fifth in the conference, 35th in the NCAA, with 14 stolen bases. Miller hit outside the lead-off spot for the first time all season Tuesday, hitting out of the three-hole.
•Longwood junior left-hander Michael Catlin has put together a solid campaign, serving as the go-to bullpen arm for the Lancers and has been one of the toughest pitchers to face in the league.
Catlin is 19th in the NCAA with 5.24 hits allowed per nine innings, is third in the league with a 1.57 ERA, second in the Big South with a .172 batting average against, is eighth in the league with two saves, and has allowed 20 hits, nine runs, and no home runs, in 34.1 innings of work across 14 appearances.
•Longwood has placed around the top 30 in several statistical categories in the NCAA.

Scouting Presbyterian
•Longwood and Presbyterian will meet for the second straight year when the Blue Hose travel up to Farmville.
•Longwood and PC played a three-game series in Clinton in 2016. The Lancers took the first game, 4-1 , on a game-winning RBI bunt single by Alex Lewis in the ninth inning, followed by a two-run double by Michael Osinski.
•Presbyterian enters the weekend second place in the Big South with a 6-3 league record. PC ieads the league in hits and is second in the conference in ERA.
•The Blue Hose are led in hitting by A.J. Priaulx, who is fifth in the league with a .345 batting average. Priaulx is also eighth in the league with a .536 slugging percentage. Priaulx leads the team with 24 RBI and 59 total bases.
Nick Guimbarda is second on the squad with a .304 batting average. •Guimbarda leads the team with nine doubles and is second on the team with an .852 OPS, just behind Priaulx's .939 mark.
•Senior lefty, Brian Kehner, is the Friday night starter and the leader in starter ERA with a 3.27 ERA in eight appearances, all starts, and one complete game shutout to his credit. Kehner has 48 strikeouts in 55.0 innings with six walks on the season.
•Ryan Hedrick has made the most appearances, posting a 2.74 ERA in 14 outings. Hedrick leads the team with five saves and has 21 strikeouts in 23.0 innings.
