Leading Off• After opening the season with 19 straight games away from Farmville, the 2015 Longwood softball team will make its home debut at Lancer Field for a three-game series against Coastal Carolina.

Megan Baltzell was named Big South Player of the Week Monday after going deep five times last weekend at the NC State Hyatt Place Invitational. The Stafford, Va., product blasted a pair of home runs in Longwood's 5-1 win against NC State, as well as the squad's 10-7 victory over Fordham.
 • Baltzell became the all-time leader in career home runs at Longwood Sunday, passing Brooke Short with 56 career homers. Baltzell tied Short in the 1st inning of Longwood's 10-7 win over FordÂham, before going deep in her final at-bat to give the Lancers a 10-7 lead in the sixth inning.
• Longwood head coach is quickly approaching career win No. 600 in her head coaching career. Riley currently owns 597 victories in her 22 total seasons at Mount Olive College and Longwood. Riley has only had one season below .500 in her career and that came in her first season at Mount Olive.
By The Numbers• Longwood returns its full complement of starters from a season ago, including its top eight position players and the top eight bats in the lineup. In addition, the Lancers return their top three pitchers from last season
• Longwood will play at least 24 games against teams that finished among the top 100 in the 2014 RPI rankings with nine games against teams that finished in the top 50 of the RPI rankings.
• Depth in the circle is not an issue for Longwood in 2015, as the Lancers reÂturn all three pitchers from a season ago, including two pitchers who earned all-conference accolades. If

Libby Morris looks to establish her name further into Longwood's all-time record books, as she is fifth all-time in career wins with 52 and fourth in career strikeÂouts with 281.
• Head Coach
Kathy Riley is primed to pick up win No. 600 in her head coaching caÂreer this season. Riley currently owns 597 career wins and if Longwood wins six straight games, Riley would earn No. 600 March 18 against Coastal Carolina. Of her 597 wins, 549 of the victories have come while as the head coach of Longwood. Riley has never had a season below .500 while at Longwood.

Kathy Riley announced the signing of a strong recruiting class of six standout student-athletes to begin competing for the Lancers during the 2016 season. • Sunday marked the second game of the weekend that Baltzell hit two round-tripÂpers in a contest, as she also accomÂplished the feat in Longwood's 5-1 upset over No. 25 NC State Friday afternoon. Throughout the weekend, Baltzell totaled five home runs after coming into the tourÂnament with two long balls on the season.
• Baltzell led the Lancers at the plate going 2-for-2 with four RBI and four runs scored. She was also intentionally walked and hit by a pitch to reach base in each of her four at-bats.
Justina Augustine and
Kelsey Sweeney also recorded two hits apiece, as seven different Longwood batters had at least one hit.

Elizabeth McCarthy (5-5) earned her third victory of the weekend and fourth straight, going 4.0 innings and allowing seven runs, four of which were earned, and one walk. She also posted one strikeout. Libby MorÂris picked up the save, coming on relief of McCarthy and giving up one hit while strikÂing out two batters in 3.0 innings of work.
