Ohio tied it at 2-2 with a pair of runs in the seventh after a lead-off single by John Adryan (1-4) and a walk to Connor Callery (0-3), before both runners advanced on a sacrifice bunt. Tyler Finkler (1-2, 2 RBI) drove in both runs with a two-run single down the right field line.

Mitchell Kuebbing/Burlington, Kentucky started for Longwood and pitched 5.0 scoreless innings, yielding just one hit with four strikeouts and two walks. Burnette (1-1) tossed the final 4.0 innings of relief, allowing two hits and two earned runs with one strikeout and one walk.
Connor Sitz (0-3) started for Ohio and pitched the first 6.1 innings, scattering five hits and four runs, two earned, with three strikeouts and three walks.
In game one, Ohio took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo home run to left field by Adryan (3-5, 3 RBI). The Bobcats made it 3-0 in the third when Garrett Black (2-4, RBI) added a solo homer to left and Jake Madsen (1-4, RBI) contributed an RBI ground ball. OU increased its advantage to 4-0 with another run in the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Mitch Longo (3-5, 3 RBI). The visitors plated three more runs in the fifth, all with two outs, to lead 7-0. Madsen got it started with a single down the left field line, followed by a single from Tyler Wells (2-5), before Longo doubled to score Madsen. A two-run single by Adryan scored both Wells and Longo. Ohio added a run in the eighth to lead 8-0 when Scott White (2-5) reached on a two-out infield single and later scored on an RBI single by Chandler Geller (2-4, RBI). The Bobcats scored a final run in the ninth for the 9-0 margin after a double by Wells and a run-scoring single from Longo.
Longwood avoided the shutout with a run in the ninth inning when junior
Brandon Delk/Newport News (1-4) singled, moved to second on a ground ball and scored on an RBI single with one out by Owens (2-4, RBI). The Lancers had just four hits in the game, including a double by Owens and a bloop infield single between the mound and second base in the fifth by Burkett (1-4), the first hit in the contest for the hosts.
