NINETY-SIX, S.C. -- Longwood University junior
Kyle Bodin/Austin, Texas has been named to the 2013 Big South Conference Men's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon at the conclusion of the conference tournament in Ninety-Six, South Carolina. Coastal Carolina University senior Sebastian Soderberg was voted the Big South Golfer of the Year by the league's head coaches. Kevin Pendley of Winthrop University was voted Coach of the Year. Conner Hayden of Radford University garnered Freshman of the Year honors. Liberty University senior Max McKay was selected as Scholar-Athlete of the Year by Big South sports information directors.
Bodin averaged 78.61 through nine tournaments and 23 rounds of golf this year. He posted season-low scores of 74 (18, 2x), 149 (36, 77-72) and 225 (54, 77-72-76), and had one top-20 individual finish. Bodin majors in business finance and economics, and has attained a cumulative grade point average of 3.60. He is a recipient of Longwood's College of Business and Economics Siddons and Bailey Scholarship, and the Jay Christopher DeBoer Scholarship. Bodin is a member of the Longwood Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and attended the 2012 Big South Conference SAAC Leadership Conference in Asheville, North Carolina.
