FARMVILLE, Va. – Longwood men's golf earned high academic honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America today, as the organization announced the 2024-25 PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award recipients.
The Lancers earned Presidents Special Recognition for maintaining an average team GPA of at least 3.5 or above.
The announcement comes the week after three Lancer men in
Scott Jordan,
Nick Fleming and
David Lafreniere also earned individual academic accolades from GCAA.
Even while the Lancer men came up aces in the classroom, they also excelled on the course. The team won three tournaments this season and led the Big South in scoring average.
Heading into the tournament, the Lancers were the top team in the league. The team had the Big South Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, four All-Big South honorees, and five players in the top 12 of the Big South in scoring average.
The Lancers return to the course this fall to begin the 2025-26 campaign, with a trip to the Joe Feaganes Invitational on September 8-9 at the Guyan Golf & Country Club in Huntington, West Virginia.
