FARMVILLE, Va. – Justin LaRue was the top golfer in the Big South this season, and he was named a Golfweek 2025 Men's College Golf All-America Honorable Mention, Golfweek announced today.
LaRue, who was the Big South Golfer of the Year for a second straight season, finished his Longwood golf career as one of the best golfer in team history.
He became the first golfer since Tim White was a GCAA Division III All-American in 1980.
LaRue led the Big South throughout the season, posting seven top 10 finishes, a league-best, in addition to leading the way with a 69.54 scoring average as the only golfer to average below a 70 on the season.
In addition, he had the two lowest 54-hole rounds in the league, and those also doubled as the lowest rounds in team history. He was a medalist four times and was the only golfer in the league to medal more than once. In addition, he helped Longwood win four tournaments.
He tied for the lowest single round in the league, and he had two of the five lowest rounds on the season in the league.
LaRue also finished in the top 250 of the national golf rankings for a second straight season. He is the career leader in stroke average in Longwood men's golf history.
He fired an incredible 69-69-63—201 (-12) at the Elon Phoenix Invitational to win the event, and he followed it up with a 71-64-67—202 (-11) to win the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate one week later.
