"The men were picked ninth this season and have battled it out with Winthrop and Radford at various times throughout the season, finishing behind both of them at Lehigh in October," said seventh-year Longwood head coach
Catherine Hanson. "Their seventh place finish today in only our second year in the conference is a milestone for this program. All seven who ran here in September were significantly faster today … they brought joyful tears to my eyes."
Longwood improved two spots upon its ninth-place finish at last year's conference championship.
