LEXINGTON, Va. -- Longwood University competed at the VMI Invitational men's cross country race Saturday at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington. There was no team scoring as the individual race winner was Cabell Willis of VMI with his time of 15:58, while the Lancers were led by sophomore
Russell Reed|Onemo (Mathews) with his time of 16:22 over the 5K course to place 10th among 25 competitors. Longwood will run again on September 15 at the JMU Open Invitational in Harrisonburg.
Russell Reed was running in his first collegiate race and posted the third-fastest 5K time in the program's history. He was followed by sophomore
