LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Longwood University split a baseball doubleheader on the road at Bucknell University of the Patriot League Sunday afternoon in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The visiting Lancers (18-10) lost game one to the host Bison (11-11) by a score of 2-1 before winning in game two by a score of 6-2. Senior captain 
Brant Jones|Richmond (Monacan) and junior 
Dustin Sollars|Midlothian (Cosby) each had two hits and two RBI in the nightcap, while sophomore 
Justin Lacy|Glen Allen (J.R. Tucker ) added five hits on the day during the two games. Longwood will play again on Tuesday afternoon, March 29, hosting in-state opponent James Madison University of the Colonial Athletic Association at Charles Buddy Bolding Stadium in Farmville beginning at 3 p.m. As always, admission is FREE at all home Longwood baseball games.
In the nine-inning nightcap, Longwood took an early 1-0 advantage with a run in the second as senior captain 
Chris Briere| Midlothian (James River) (2-4, rbi) provided a run-scoring single. Bucknell scored two runs in the third before the Lancers took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth after an RBI single by freshman 
Adam Blankinship|Richmond (Mills E. Godwin) (2-3, rbi) scored Briere who had doubled, and a ground-ball RBI from Sollars (2-3, 2 rbi). Longwood added three more runs in the sixth for the final four-run margin of victory. In the sixth, Sollars had a one-out RBI double before Jones (2-5, 2 rbi) added a two-run infield single. Lacy (3-5) collected three hits in the game, including a double.
Sophomore 
Kyler Morgan|Lancaster, Pa. (Lampeter-Strasburg) (3-1) took the Longwood pitching win with the first 7.0 innings, scattering six hits and two runs, both earned, with four strikeouts and five walks. Junior captain 
Mark Montgomery| Williamsburg (Bruton) tossed the final 2.0 scoreless innings, yielding one hit with four strikeouts and one walk. He has yet to allow a run in 13 appearances totaling 17.2 innings while scattering seven hits with 27 strikeouts and only five walks.
In the seven-inning opener, Longwood allowed two runs in the first inning and it was enough for Bucknell as the Lancers managed only one run in the third inning. Freshman 
Matt Dickason|Chesapeake (Indian River) (1-3, rbi) provided a two-out RBI double that scored junior 
Robby Newman|Virginia Beach (Salem) (1-2) who had led-off the inning with a double as well. Lacy (2-3) had two hits in the game, including a double too.
Junior 
Matt Gwaltney|Chesterfield (Matoaca) (3-3) took the tough-luck, complete-game pitching loss for Longwood with 6.0 innings, allowing five hits and two runs, each earned, with five strikeouts and two walks.
