“ We are excited to announce the 2011 All-Sports Performance Enhancement Clinic,” said Longwood strength and conditioning coach
John Hark. “The clinic will be a great opportunity to reach youth with a holistic plan for the development of their physical preparation as athletes. Physical strength is the base of every sport. It can be the limiting factor for an athletes career. Our clinic will not only offer athletes the opportunity to get a feel for what it takes to train and compete at the Division I level, but it will teach them how to execute a proper performance enhancement program, that will ensure their development of strength.”
The clinic is designed to improve performance on the field and in the gym. The staff will emphasize speed, explosiveness, agility, power, strength, flexibility and mobility. Athletes will receive instruction on many of the same training methods used by top Division I athletic programs, including a dynamic warm-up, resistance training with free weights, high-intensity plyo-metrics and speed drills.
