LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Longwood University posted 996 points to finish 31st among 32 teams Saturday at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championships at the E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky.  North Carolina State University took first place with 68 points, and Wolfpack runner Ryan Hill was the individual winner with his time of 29:48, while freshman Trey Thomas|Stafford (Mountain View) led the Lancers with his 35:00 over the 10,000-meter course.  Longwood will compete in the IC4A Championships hosted by the Eastern College Athletic Conference on Saturday, November 19, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, New York beginning at 11 a.m.
   
Longwood was led by Thomas who placed 189th among 218 runners, and was followed by freshman Stephen Ferguson|Columbia (Goochland) (35:37, 197th), senior Alex Strittmater|Haymarket (Battlefield) (36:44, 208th), sophomore Kyle Moller|Gainesville (Battlefield) (37:09, 213th), senior Justin Cooke|Chesterfield (Manchester) (37:27, 214th), and freshman Nick Reed|Fairfax (Robinson) (37:29, 215th).  Thomas posted the eighth-fastest 10K in the program's history.
   
Following North Carolina State among the top-10 were Eastern Kentucky (139), William and Mary (152), Virginia Tech (161), North Carolina (162), host Louisville (188), Duke (197), UNC Greensboro (198), Virginia (238), and Western Kentucky (285).
