Emma Zieverink | West Chester, Ohio (Lakota West) with seven points each while the Terrapins (18-3) were paced by Alicia DeVaughn with 16 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Longwood returns to action on Wednesday, February 2, when it hosts CSU Bakersfield in Willett Hall in Farmville at 7 p.m..
Maryland jumped out to a 15-0 lead before a Zieverink layup put the Lancers on the board with 15:29 remaining in the first half. Maryland scored the final 14 points of the first half at the foul line as Longwood trailed 50-14 at halftime.
Maryland continued to slowly extend its lead in the second half, outscoring the Lancers 34-24. Longwood was more active rebounding in the second half, grabbing 14 rebounds while holding the Terrapins to 19 rebounds in the second period.
Longwood shot 26.9% (14-52) from the floor, including 11.1% (2-18) from behind the arc, and 80% (8-10) from the foul line. The Lancers shot 37.5% (9-24) from the floor in the second half and had eight assists in the second period. Billups and Zieverink scored seven points each. Sophomore

Maryland shot 41.4% (24-58) from the floor, including 16.7% (1-6) from behind the arc, and 81.4% (35-43) from the foul line. DeVaughn scored a game-high 16 points, while Lynetta Kizer added 15 points and Alyssa Thomas scored 14 points. The Terrapins outrebounded Longwood 50-26 and scored 18 second-chance points. Maryland turned 31 Longwood turnovers in to 36 points and outscored the Lancers 40-8 in the paint.
Maryland leads the series 2-0 after earning its second straight victory.
