TOWSON, Md. - The Longwood University women's tennis team carried a 6-1 decision past Towson University (4-17) on Friday afternoon in Towson, Maryland. Longwood swept all three doubles matches and won five singles matches. The Lancers (10-7) return to action on Saturday, April 10, when they face Howard University in Washington, D.C., at 1 p.m..

In singles competition, senior Laura Simon/Barcelona, Spain (IES Lluis de Peguera) won at #1 (6-0, 6-4), junior Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) was victorious at #2 (6-4, 5-7, 10-3), senior Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate School) won at #4 (6-0, 6-0), freshman Allison Shulman/Richmond (Deep Run) was victorious at #5 (6-3, 6-1) and  freshman Hannah Hill/Portsmouth (Western Branch) won at #6 (6-1, 6-2). Freshman Marta Pinyol/Barcelona, Spain (IESM Ferran Tallada) fell at #3 (2-6, 2-6).

In doubles action, Jakab and Pinyol won at #1 (8-5), Davis and Shulman were victorious at #2 (8-1) and Hill and Simon won at #3 (8-1).
