CONWAY, S.C. - The Longwood University softball team bounced back with an 11-0 win over Siena College on Sunday morning at the Coastal Carolina Invitational in Conway, South Carolina. Junior
Briana Wells/Romoland, Calif. (Paloma Valley) pitched a five-inning no-hitter with one strikeout in the win. Junior
Kami Nuckols/Glen Allen (Patrick Henry) extended her hitting streak to 19 games after going 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Longwood (22-10) returns to action on Wednesday, March 31, when they host a doubleheader against in-state rival Radford University at 3 p.m. at Lancer Field in Farmville.

Ashley Kramer/Ashburn (Broad Run) (1-1, HR, 4 RBI) gave Longwood the early lead as she hit a grand slam in the first inning that scored seniors

Nichole Simmons/Chesapeake (Hickory). Junior
Tricia Nelson/Plainfield, Ill. (Plainfield Central) (1-1) scored on a wild pitch to put Longwood ahead 8-0 after three innings. Longwood scored three more runs in the fifth inning, the first two on a double by Matthews that scored Nelson and Cox. Nuckols followed with an RBI single up the middle that scored Matthews and put Longwood ahead 11-0.
Wells (18-5) faced the minimum 15 batters in the no-hit win. She allowed just one baserunner who reached on an error. Wells had one strikeout and forced nine groundouts. Only one ball left the infield as there were three popups and one flyout to left field.
Amanda Filippazzo (1-10) received the loss for Siena (3-17) after giving up eight runs, five earned, on five hits with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
