FARMVILLE, Va. -- Longwood University is hosting its first-ever
Live TV game against James Madison University on Wednesday, December 1, at 7:05 p.m. as SPORTSfever Television Network from Marietta, Pennsylvania is producing the home game for live national coverage on
Fox College Sports (FCS). It will be the first-ever telecast of a Longwood intercollegiate sports event on-campus from Willett Hall. FCS Atlantic TV is available nationwide via most digital cable providers, including Shentel locally, as well as the DIRECTV® (617) satellite network. Former Longwood radio play-by-play announcer Jon Schaeffer, currently the Manager of Media Relations & Broadcasting for the Philadelphia Phillies' Triple-A Affiliate Lehigh Valley IronPigs, will handle the game's play-by-play while former Bucknell (1975-94) and William and Mary (1994-2000)?men's basketball head coach Charlie Woollum will serve as the game's color analyst. The Longwood-JMU game will also be shown via tape-delay on MASN Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 9 p.m., and Comcast will show the game via tape-delay as well on Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.
Longwood is coached by eighth-year head coach
Mike Gillian, and will be led by 6-6, 225-pound junior center
Antwan Carter|St. Petersburg, Fla. (St. Petersburg) who is averaging a double-double of 15.6 points and 11.0 rebounds. JMU is coached by third-year Dukes' head coach Matt Brady and is led by 6-10, 260-pound senior forward and NBA prospect Denzel Bowles (17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds). The Lancers (3-4) and Dukes (5-1) are meeting for the sixth time since February 2005 with JMU leading the series 3-2 as each school has won the games on played on their respective home floors.
