FARMVILLE, Va. - The Longwood University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Liberty University on Tuesday afternoon in Farmville. The Lancers fall to 2-7 while the Flames improve to 10-6 on the season. Longwood was scheduled to take on Radford University on Wednesday, April 1, but that match has been postponed due to the high probability of rain. The Lancers will take on George Mason University on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Lancers were swept in the singles, with junior Laura Simon/Barcelona, Spain (IES Lluis de Peguera) falling at #1 (0-6, 1-6), sophomore Zsofia Jakab/Minusio, Switzerland (Lices Cantonale Locarns) losing at #2 (1-6, 3-6), freshman Jackie Esguerra/Sauk City, Wis. (Prairie du Sac High) falling at #3 (0-6, 0-6), senior Ashley Melson/Virginia Beach (Kellam) losing at #4 (6-4, 3-8 (8-10)), sophomore Nasim Moadab/Colonial Heights (Colonial Heights) falling at #5 (1-6, 1-6) and senior Eileen Sullivan/Toano (Nansemond Suffolk Academy) losing at #6 (1-6, 1-6).

Longwood dropped all three doubles flights as well. Simon and Jakab fell at #1 (5-8), Mason Davis/Richmond (Collegiate) and Melson lost at #2 (5-8) and Esguerra and Moadab fell at #3 (2-8).
