COMPLETE RESULTS
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Longwood University men's cross country totaled 194 points to finish sixth among eight teams Saturday at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by the College of William and Mary at the Eastern State Hospital/Dunbar Farms in Williamsburg. Host William and Mary won its own event with 32 points, while The Tribe's Ben Massam won the individual 8K race with his time of 24:57. The Lancers will compete again on Saturday, October 4, at the George Mason Invitational in Manassas.
In Williamsburg, Longwood was led by senior
Matt Gordon/Annandale (Bishop Ireton) with his time of 27:57 to place 67th among the 106 runners. Gordon was followed by classmate
Evan Kearney/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) (28:03, 69th), freshman
Darren Simpson/Crewe (FUMA) (28:10, 71st), junior
Ross Roberts/Powhatan (Powhatan) (28:32, 75th), along with freshman
Alex Strittmater/Haymarket (Battlefield) (28:47, 78th). Kearney, Simpson, Roberts, and Strittmater each ran season-best times for the 8K distance.
Also running for the Lancers were freshman
