COMPLETE RESULTS
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Longwood University men's cross country totaled 342 points to finish 13th among 14 teams Saturday at the Navy Invitational in Maryland. The host Midshipmen took team laurels with their 64 points, while the University of Richmond's Matt Llano placed first among 117 collegiate runners with his time of 24:38 in the 8K race at the U.S. Naval Academy. Longwood will compete again September 27 at the Inter-Regional Challenge hosted by the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg.
In Maryland, Longwood was competing in its first 8K (5 miles)?race of the season while led by senior
Matt Gordon/Annandale (Bishop Ireton) with his time of 27:44 to finish 68th. Gordon was followed by classmate
Evan Kearney/Richmond (Douglas Freeman) (28:16, 81st), along with freshmen
Darren Simpson/Crewe (FUMA) (28:21, 84th),
Robert Webb/Williamsburg (Lafayette) (28:22, 85th), and
Justin Cooke/Chesterfield (Manchester) (28:35, 89th). Freshman
Alex Strittmater/Haymarket (Battlefield)?(29:25, 106th) also ran for the Lancers.
