Longwood University Athletics

Megan Baltzell is our 2013-14 Longwood Female Athlete of the Year.  A catcher on the softball team, has started all 47 games and leads the Lancers with her .471 batting average, 64 hits, nine home runs, three triples, 16 doubles, 42 RBIs, 44 runs, 31 walks, 113 total bases, an .831 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage.  She adds 14 stolen bases (second on team) and a .980 fielding percentage (second on team).  Baltzell was named to the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Second Team, the NFCA All-Southeast Region First Team, the All-Big South First Team and the Big South Championship All-Tournament Team.  Megan majors in exercise science, and is the daughter of Tammy and Winston Baltzell.
