Twitter Reacts as Longwood Wins Big South Title

The Lancers Capture the 2015 Big South Title, as Told on Social Media

FARMVILLE, Va. - Longwood captured its second Big South Championship Sunday afternoon, defeating Presbyterian, 4-0 in the championship game. With the win, the Lancers earned their second NCAA berth in three seasons Sunday after winning the 2015 Big South Championship Sunday. It marks the second Longwood team to earn a bid into the NCAA Tournament in the Division I era, following the 2013 squad that finished the season with a school-record 41 victories.

The Lancers (33-23) were selected as the No. 4 seed into the Knoxville, Tenn., Regional and will open the NCAA Tournament against No. 8 overall seed Tennessee Friday, May 15 at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.

Utah is the No. 2 seed in the Knoxville Regional and will face No. 3 seed Virginia Tech Friday.
 
Kathy Riley, the 2015 Big South Coach of the Year, led the Lancers to the 11th 30+ win season in school history and extended a streak of 18 consecutive seasons with a record at .500 or better.
 
The blue and white finished the season with 13 consecutive wins, including nine straight to close the regular season and four straight en route to capturing the Big South Championship.
