CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Four Longwood women's soccer players have been named to the 2026 Big South Midseason Watch List, the league announced on Thursday.
Ahead of the start of league play, forwards Sam Fischer and Madison Fitzpatrick, midfielder Coryn Silberstein and defender Berni Wayland were selected for recognition.
Fischer, the preseason 2026 Big South Forward of the Year, has appeared in six matches with two starts, logging 180 minutes after returning from injury. She's taken five shots with two on goal.
Fitzpatrick has played all nine matches, making eight starts and leads the Lancers with two goals and four points. She scored the only goal in a 1-0 home win over Hampton with Sept. 6 on a 43rd-minute tally.
Silberstein has started all nine matches in the midfield, logging the second most minutes on the team with 621.
Wayland has led the back line in all nine matches this season with a team-leading 750 minutes while helping limit the opposition to just 1.11 goals per game.
She was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 24.
Longwood (3-4-2), in the midst of a season-long five-match homestand, opens Big South play Saturday hosting High Point at 2 p.m., on ESPN+.
