First pitch:
• The Lancers return to Buddy Bolding Stadium for a three-game series against USC Upstate.
• USC Upstate is currently 11-11  after a 11-10 win against Charlotte on Wednesday evening.
• The Spartans finished first in the Big South finishing 36-25 overall and 19-5 in conference play.
• The Lancers, at 15-6, continue their best start through since going 13-4 to start the 2004 season. In that season, they lost it's first four games before winning 13 straight.
• Longwood is also off to their best start in the schools DI career, going 11-5 in 2011.

Last series:
• The Lancers won 8-6 at home in a mid-week matchup against William & Mary.
• Lucas Johnson had a two hit, run and RBI game, including a double and homer.
• Four Lancers doubled, including Johnson, Ben Pulliam, Mac Tufts and Jack McMullan.
• The two teams went back and fourth for seven innings before Wyatt Bunch and JR Fordham limited the damage with only two hits and no runs allowed.
