The First Pitch:

• Longwood returns to Buddy Bolding Stadium for a weekend series against UMBC.
• The Lancers last played against UMBC in 2012, where they won 5-2 for a weekend sweep.
• Longwood put up a total of 23 runs and 39 hits over the series.
• The Lancers take on a UMBC team that finished sixth in the America East conference in 2025 and clinched a championship berth.
• The Retrievers lost in round one of the America East Conference 14-8 against Binghamton.

Last Time Out:

• The Lancers lost 5-3 against No.10/9 UNC on the road.
• Longwood out-hit the Tar Heels 9-8, allowing only one unearned run in eight innings.
• The Longwood bullpen, consisting of Jackson Garland, Wyatt Bunch, Drew Siegner and JR Fordham, struck out five in 8.1 innings.
Mac Tufts and Lucas Johnson drove home runs and Tre Keels stole third and scored on an error.
• Longwood loaded the bases at the top of the ninth but the Tar Heels pitching staff was able to escape the situation.

• Longwood is ranked first in the Big South and 16th in the nation for stolen bases with 14 on the season. 
• The Lancers also lead the Big South in stolen bases per game and rank 22nd in the nation 
• The Lancers are ranked first in the Big South and fifth in the nation for walks allowed per nine innings with a 1.74 average. 
• Tre Keels is tied for first in the Big South in stolen bases and ranked eighth nationally, going five for five.
Lucas Johnson follows closely behind, ranking third in the Big South and 25th nationally with four successful stolen bases.
Brogan Jones is second in the Big South and 36th in the nation for RBI's with eight in four games.
• Jones is also tied for first in the Big South against five other players for home runs with two.
• The Lancers are 3-0 at home this season, matching their home start in 2024. That season, they opened 7-0 at Buddy Bolding Stadium before their first home loss.
